Another sequence of some fighting Avocets. This one turned out to be something akin to a shorebird karate match, with the aggressor apparently trying to kick his rival! Funny birds, if I do say so myself. I think the guy with the more deeply reddish head was a bit of a bully…he not only chased the other Avocets, but he also chased off one of the Willets, chased around the only Least Sandpiper (smallest sandpiper there is, about as big as a songbird), pretty much anything that he felt was encroaching on his “territory”.
