Bird, wildlife, and landscape photography by Jon Rista

Knowledge Center

I’ve added a new page, titled “Knowledge Center” on my menu bar. If you are interested in learning about my technique, my artistic style, or any of the general tidbits of information I will be sharing about both the technical and artistic aspects of photography, keep an eye out on the Knowledge Center. I plan to post articles there every so often that I hope will be useful to photographers who may have encountered some of the same questions and pain points I did while learning to be a photographer.

As it has turned out, for at least a few weeks, and for as much as three months, I’ll be staying in Stamford, CT. The intent is so I can learn about the project from it’s current maintainers and eventually become its master. I am not really sure how long I’ll actually be in Stamford, I figure at least a month. I’ll be bringing along my photography equipment, and hope to get some landscape, wildlife, and bird photography in on the weekends, and maybe in the evenings (long exposure sunset photography along the coast is something I’ve wanted to do for a while…with the only problem being that Colorado is landlocked.) There are also other sights, not the least of which are lighthouses, which I hope will make for some interesting photographic subjects. If I have the time, there are a couple of beaches in Manhattan and of course areas in New Jersey, where the bird watching is apparently really good.

Stamford, Connecticut.
