Snowy Egret’s Treetops
| 6 imagesAnother set of photos of Snowy Egrets from the first few days of owning my 600mm lens. I have some photos of beautiful birds adorning treetops, however none as detailed as these. I particularly love the first photo in this sequence, I just love that pose. Another vertically framed shot is below…I think this version fits the bird better, and brings out more detail on the resolution-limited web:
Super photos of the always entertaining snowys!
These are really gorgeous photos — award winners in my book.
Thank you, very much! 🙂
I like images 1, 3 and 5 for the delicacy of the colors with the muted sage greens, pale blues with the white feathers of the Snowy….just very soft and lovely!! You do so well from so far. I rely so much on getting close to stay within the capability of my gear. I think it is so very wonderful to see you having so much fun with your new 600mm. I love it when people really have passion for things!! Awesome going!!
Thank you for the kind comments, Judy. 🙂 I also have to say, I know your struggles! I spent the last two years trying to get so close and stay within the capabilities of 400mm. It is NOT an easy job, for sure! That was ultimately what lead me to spend so much money…which is definitely not something I do very often, for sure…but it really is my passion. 🙂 I do have to say, though…you do extremely well within your limitations. I truly loved your heron moon photo…simply an exquisite piece of art!
Best of luck, and keep working on your technique. And, if you haven’t yet…you might give some camo a try…even just a camo pancho might be enough to get just a little bit closer. You might also try getting some camo covering for your camera…I found the $99 LensCoat RainCoat to be a fairly cheap way to get a very flexible rainproof camo cover that works on…well, pretty much everything! 🙂 It really does help, too.
I appreciate your tips, thoughts and also the comment on Heron Moon!! Always want to keep getting better!! Its addictive for sure!!
