Sneaky Semipalmated Plover
| 4 imagesThis little guy, a semipalmated plover, was a real sneaky one. I could never get any good close-up shots. He was small enough that he could thoroughly hide behind very small little ridges in the sand…deftly poking his head out every once in a while to check me out, then ducking down again to scoot along the sand spit. I hope, once I have a longer lens, that I’ll be able to get some better shots of these little beauties without having to be so close as to put them on alert.
Terrific pics of these cute little guys!
Beautiful, Jon. So clear and great DOF. WE have Piping Plovers in SC which are protected- they look very similar.
