Sneaky Semipalmated Plover

| 4 images

This little guy, a semipalmated plover, was a real sneaky one. I could never get any good close-up shots. He was small enough that he could thoroughly hide behind very small little ridges in the sand…deftly poking his head out every once in a while to check me out, then ducking down again to scoot along the sand spit. I hope, once I have a longer lens, that I’ll be able to get some better shots of these little beauties without having to be so close as to put them on alert.
