This fall, a number of jays showed up in my yard. At first there were the beautiful Blue Jays. I tried to get some photos of them, but they seemed to be rather shy, and I was never able to capture any good shots. For a few days, a couple other jays moved in. I saw and heard a couple of Stellar’s Jays. A little after that, a Scrub Jay moved in. The thing about jays? They LOVE peanuts. Not just the seeds themselves, though. If you happen to have any peanuts in their shells, don’t take your eyes off ’em! You might find they’ve been snatched if you do!

Really tack sharp Jon, well done!
I love the fine detail of this photo!
Aye! This is one of the sharpest photos I’ve ever taken with my 100-400. I was relatively close to the subject, and there is no question the 7D has resolution to spare…but such photos still seem to be a little rare. 😉 (I just hope my lens comes back after repair just as sharp!)
