I never really cared for gulls before…but I have to say, they make excellent practice subjects at the very least, as they are everywhere. They tend to be light with lots of white feathers, so they help you refine your technique with exposure and ETTR. And, they come in a bunch of varieties, with both adult plumage as well as juvi and first year forms. Makes em pretty interesting birds after all.
