Nature Photography

Around the middle of April, 2012, I took a trip to Chatfield State Park in Colorado. The original goal was to photograph the birds Chatfield is known for, particularly Double-Crested Cormorants and Great Blue Herons. The day turned out to be quite a wild day, constantly shifting from a drizzle, to torrential rain, to sleet, to snow and back to driving, torrential rain again…with the occasional peek at the sun. This drove much of the bird life to shelter, leaving me looking for another subject to photograph. When you take the time to look, nature is full of intriguing photographic subjects…
